Knowing what's going on is cool. Newspapers are boring. Solution? The Oblivious Young, trying to make the news make actual sense. With possibly a dash of fashion thrown in. Or music. Or puppies. I have a bit of a sporatic personality.

Oh Canada, and all that.

Yes, this is the Prime Minister of Canada.

In the news today: Canadians are friggin' terrified.

I would say: 'Of what, moose?' but I am Canadian, so I realize how awesome moose really are and that they are misunderstood gentle giants. If I ever happened to meet a moose, I would be pretty stoked.

But no, the thing that Canadians are running away from screaming today is our own government. Typical. Us up north here have been complaining for months about how our government is sooo boring and we wish something exciting would happen and ohmygod why did Obama have to be American; and then when we actually get some political 'action', we get all upset. Which, in Canadian terms basically means we're telling surveys how upset we are. If we were French there probs would have been a riot or two by now.

The Prime Minister, Stephen Harper is in a bit of a pickle right now with 2/3 or Canadians saying they're "Truly scared" for our economy, and getting all pissed off that he hasn't done anything about it.

There has been a lot of throwing around of the C-word recently: coalition. I wasn't totally sure( or even a bit sure) what that word means, so I Wikapedia-d it. Your welcome.

Coalition: A coalition is an alliance among individuals, during which they cooperate in joint action, each in his own self-interest. Joining forces together for a common cause. This alliance may be temporary or a matter of convenience. A coalition thus differs from a more formal covenant. Possibly described as a joining of 'factions'.

So basically a coalition is a bunch of people getting together and talking about bad stuff, then trying to solve that bad stuff.

The guy on the right was almost Prime Minister of Canada. I mean, we're not crazy people.

This sounds like kind of a good thing to me, but apparently it's not if it's supposed to be lead by Stephane Dion, a former rival in the election for Prime Minister-ancy. He was the one with the really French accent.

Most Canadians are saying that they'd rather have ANOTHER election than leave their economies fate in the hands of the Quebecois guy they can't understand. And then they said that they would probably vote for Stephen Harper, who is already the Prime Minister anyways.

I give a big, "WTF is the point?"

In general, Canadians are against letting the coalitions/S.D. run the country.

So basically, they've been talking about having a coalition, and they've been talking about having another election- but nothing has really happened.

Ah, Canada.

You love us.

Thanks for the comment. Loved your excerpt on Canadian politics...definitely the more "overlooked" compared to the news on American power-struggle-shenanigans. More please.
